The Mitchell School Board approved several supplements to the 2022-23 budget at its Monday meeting. The total of the supplements was just over $3.5 million. The general fund supplement was $633,000, the capital outlay fund supplement was nearly $126,000, the special education fund supplement was $155,000, and the capital project fund supplement was just over $2.6 million. The largest supplement was the capital project fund expense that the school district paid for the new high school. Other supplements covered a warranty for laptop programs, new business office software, new library furniture, matching funds for a Workforce Education grant, salary increases, insurance expenses, and student therapy expenses.

Mitchell Technical College reduced its budget by $4.3 million due to that money being set aside for construction of a new diesel building that was not built.

A budget hearing for the 2023-24 school year was postponed until the school board’s July 24th meeting.
