The Mitchell School Board on Monday voted to add class size recommendations to administrative guidelines. Mitchell Schools Superintendent Joe Childs says the guidelines will help the administration make staffing and assignment decisions.
Mitchell High School science teacher Danielle Erdmann brought her own set of class size guidelines based on input from her fellow instructors. She says it is about building relationships with students, and higher class sizes do not allow for that.
The class size recommendations will be reviewed annually by the school board and by teachers. The school board will receive a report about any deviations from the recommendations.
