MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — Several streets in Mitchell will be closed beginning Wednesday, Aug. 19, as crews conduct a street milling project.

The closures will begin at 7 a.m. Aug. 19 and are expected to remain in place until 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20. The milling project is estimated to take two days to complete.

The affected streets are:

  • Hanson Avenue from Kimball Street to Burr Street
  • 15th Avenue from Kimball Street to Park Drive
  • 23rd Avenue from Main Street to Langdon Street
  • 15th Avenue from Main Street to Wisconsin Street

No parking will be allowed on the affected streets until the project is completed.

Residents who need access to their vehicles during the project are asked to park on nearby side streets before the closures begin, particularly if construction will prevent access to a garage or residence.

Drivers should use alternate routes and watch for construction crews and traffic-control signs in the affected areas.
