MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Mitchell Technical College is moving forward with a drainage improvement project funded by ARPA funds. Phase 2, currently underway, aims to reroute drainage and improve a retention pond to prevent water damage to campus buildings. The project, projected to cost $5.8 million over three years, will continue through the end of this year. The school is also reportedly upgrading sidewalks and roads to handle runoff better. The Mitchell Daily Republic reports a new underground energy training facility for the Powerline Program is also planned, which will create about 75 new jobs in the area.
