MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) Mitchell utility customers can track their water consumption and receive alerts about possible leaks through an online portal available on computers and smartphones.

Track Water Use and Receive Alerts
According to the city, the portal includes alerts for leaks or high-water use. Customers can choose whether to receive notifications by email, text message or phone call.
The system also provides local weather information and access to the city’s online payment site. Its mobile app allows customers to view their information from a smartphone.
How to Register
To create an account, visit getmymeter.info and have a utility billing statement available.
The city’s registration instructions direct customers to enter “City of Mitchell” as the utility name and type their utility account number exactly as it appears on the invoice.
Registration also requires a selected username, password, first and last names, and email address. Customers must accept the terms of service and activate their account through a confirmation email before signing in.
Manage Notifications and Mobile Access
Once registered, customers can configure notification types, delivery methods and the hours during which they want to receive messages.
The city’s instructions say notification contact information comes from its bill payment system. Customers can update those details through that system or contact customer service.
The mobile app must be linked to the portal account. Pairing begins through the portal’s mobile device icon and uses a QR code scanned with the app.
