SoDak 16 volleyball begins tomorrow! Some local area teams will be in action. In Class A SoDak 16, No. 13 seed Hanson will face No. 4 seed Dakota Valley at Centerville High School at 7pm and No. 7 seed Mount Vernon/Plankinton takes on No. 10 seed Groton Area in Huron Arena at 7pm as well. In Class B SoDak 16, the No. 13 seed Parkston plays No. 4 seed Kadoka Area at 7pm at Todd County High School.
Dakota Wesleyan
The No. 9 ranked Tiger women’s basketball team returns to the court tomorrow. They’ll be back at the Worlds Only Corn Palace for this upcoming game. Your Tigers will take on Vally City State at 7pm with pregame at 6:45pm. They’ll look to bounce back after loss this past Wednesday.
Both teams opened their season yesterday morning for DWU. Jagger Tyler and Kipp Cordes led the way as Tyler ended as the runner-up in the 174lb weight class. Cordes finished fifth in the 133lb weight class with a 4-3 record. Additional results include Zach Zitek with a 2-2 record in the 141lb weight class, followed by Jackson Remmers in the 165lb class with a 4-2 record. Colton Hink and Tanner Hennings both with 2-2 records in their respective classes, with Hank in the 197lb class and Hennings in the 285lb class. The women were competing in the Warrior Tournament in Forest City, IA. Results include Keera Lacock with a point total of 6.0, along with Jayden Lange posting 5.5 and 2.0 for Olivia Smith.
NBA
Quite a few games yesterday, but they saved some for today. All games will begin at 7pm. The slate includes the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards at the Houston Rockets, the Brooklyn Nets at the New Orleans Pelicans, Los Angeles Clippers at the Oklahoma City Thunder on NBATV and the Sacramento Kings at the San Antonio Spurs. All games but the NBATV game, will be on NBA League Pass.
NFL
The Minnesota Vikings were in action yesterday taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Vikings managed to sneak past Jacksonville, 12-7. The week is set to be rounded out by the Miami Dolphins against the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football at 7:15pm on ESPN/ABC.
