More details have been released regarding the first homicide of 2021 in Sioux Falls. 18-year old Asher Parks is in jail on one million dollars bond after the Tuesday morning incident. Three people were inside of a home in central Sioux Falls just after midnight when an argument between Parks and a 19-year old man led to Parks shooting the man several times. The third person in the house was the victim’s mother. Parks threatened her before leaving the residence. The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Parks was apprehended two hours later and was taken into custody. He faces several charges, including murder. Parks was arrested last week on an aggravated assault charge and had been released on a personal recognizance bond. He is also scheduled to go to trial on a charge of obstructing an officer.
