The Great Plains Athletic Conference recently released their end-of-season conference awards on Wednesday morning. Multiple players from both the men’s and women’s teams were recognized. Coaching awards have yet to be released by the conference.
Men’s Basketball
Second Team All-Conference: Anthony Riggans & Randy Rosenquist Jr (3x All-Conference)
Honorable Mention All-Conference: Steele Morgan & Easton Neuendorf
Women’s Basketball
First Team All-Conference: Avery Broughton (2x All-Conference) & Emma Yost (3x All-Conference)
Second Team All-Conference: Rylee Rosenquist (4x All-Conference)
Honorable Mention All-Conference: Shalayne Nagel (2x All-Conference) & Jaida Young
Broughton was also honored by the conference with the GPAC Defensive Player of the Year award. This season she was named Player-of-the-Week five times after leading the conference in blocks (66) and finished second in rebounds per game (8.4).
The No. 9 Tiger women await their opponent for the NAIA National Tournament with the Selection Show set for tomorrow night at 7pm. Dakota Wesleyan is one of the host sites for the tournament this year and games will be played in the World’s Only Corn Palace.
