Names of two killed in two-vehicle crash in McCook County on Wednesday released

The names of two people who died on Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash in McCook County were released over the weekend. Preliminary crash information indicates 72-year-old Gerald E. Snoozy of Dell Rapids was driving a 1991 GMC pickup headed westbound on SD Hwy 38 one mile west of Salem just after 11 AM on Wednesday. 77-year old Gilbert L. Schuchardt of Spencer was driving an eastbound 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass. The vehicles collided in the westbound lane near mile post 331. The drivers of both vehicles sustained fatal injuries and both were not wearing seatbelts. There were no passengers in either vehicle. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
