New COVID-19 cases in South Dakota more than doubled to over 1,000 between Monday and Tuesday. The state reported 1,020 new cases and 5,035 active cases. 216 people are currently hospitalized with the virus, and 2 new deaths were reported. The state surpassed 132,000 total cases since the start of the pandemic. Davison County’s active case total continues to rise as well, with 65 active cases reported on Tuesday.
