The South Dakota House has passed a bill that increases penalties, which was introduced by law enforcement officials in Sioux Falls due to the rising street racing issue. Representative David Kull, a former police chief in Brandon, argues that tougher penalties are essential. VERBATIM: They are taking over these streets and they are driving at extremely high rates of speed. Not just endangering themselves, but endangering the other motorized public. They’re stealing a street. That’s what Sioux Falls is faced with. The bill is now awaiting the Governor’s signature to become law.
