New parking fees and fines in Downtown Sioux Falls are drawing concern from City Councilor Curt Soehl, who fears the changes may reverse years of economic growth and revitalization.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) New parking fees and possible fines have at least one Sioux Falls City Councilor revisiting nightmares of Downtown Sioux Falls’ past. Oversized pickups and SUV’s will be ticketed starting Thursday, and you’ll have to plug parking meters if you want to park curbside in downtown Sioux Falls starting Saturday. Councilor Curt Soehl is concerned that the success downtown has enjoyed in recent decades will be tarnished by changes that take effect this week.
