A new study shows that South Dakota is 9th in the country in parks and recreation spending per capita. The study from CLIQ shows that jobs in parks and recreation account for 3.3% of total employment in the state. Each year, South Dakota invests just over $161 million into its parks and recreation areas, which amounts to $182 per resident. North Dakota leads the country in parks and rec spending per capita, while California spends the most overall.
