Incumbent Deb Olson and longtime Mitchell educator and administrator Terry Aslesen were the top two vote getters in the Mitchell School Board election on Tuesday, winning in a crowded field of 6 candidates.  Tim Moon finished third followed by Jeff Sand, Chris Foster, and David Lambert.

Incumbent Lance Koth and Ben Krohmer won the District 20 House Republican primary.  Jeff Bathke finished third.

In the District 19 House primary, Jessica Bahmuller and Drew Peterson won with 30 and 22 percent of the vote.

Senator John Thune, Representative Dusty Johnson, and Governor Kristi Noem were declared winners in their respective races on Tuesday.

South Dakota voters soundly defeated Amendment C, which would require a 60 percent vote for approval of ballot measures imposing taxes or fees or obligating over $10 million.

Voter turnout in Davison County was around 35 percent, while voter turnout in the state was just over 32 percent.

Meyer in the Beadle County Commission primary, Brett Jay Romkema in the Bon Homme County Commission primary, Chris Reitsma-Lau in the Douglas County Sheriff primary, Byrain L. Boes in the Gregory County Commission primary, Bruce Kjetland in the Hanson County Commission primary, Maurice Waltner in the Hutchinson County Sheriff primary, Corey Johnke and Kelli Wollmann in the Lake County Commission primary, Mark Norris in the McCook County Sheriff primary, Marc Dick in the McCook County Commission primary, Duane Peterson in the Sanborn County Commission primary, Larry Wilcox And Cody L. Jorgenson in the Tripp County Commission primary, Clint Soulek and Timothy Thomas in the Chamberlain City Commission election, Nikki Ashley in the Chamberlain Area School Board race, Donnie Hamiel in the Kimball mayoral race, Brady Goodall in the Kimball City Council race, and Veronica Gerard, Cody A. Volmer, and Nathan Millard in the Lyman School Board race.
