One person is dead following a Sunday morning incident in rural Davison County. Law enforcement responded to a report of a shooting. The suspect reportedly fired two shots at a family member inside their residence and then fled. Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect had returned to the residence. While searching the residence for the suspect, a deputy heard a sound outside. The suspect was found in the back yard with a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Davison County Sheriff’s Office, Mitchell Police Department, Hanson County Sheriff’s Office, SD Highway Patrol, and Mitchell Ambulance responded to the scene.
