A Mitchell man involved in a robbery at a Mitchell gas station in November pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery on Tuesday. 18-year old John Beck was charged with first-degree robbery and aggravated assault. In exchange for his guilty plea to robbery, the aggravated assault charge was dropped. Beck faces up to 25 years in prison on the charge. He took money after pointing a BB gun at the clerk at Easy Come, Easy Go on the corner of 5th and Sanborn. He and 18-year old Geno Gehl were arrested moments later. Officers found over 500 dollars in cash on the suspects. Beck is scheduled to be sentenced on March 1st. Gehl also appeared in court on Tuesday. A mental health evaluation is being conducted, and a jury trial was set for April in his case.
