MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley announced that a Parkston man has been convicted of Third Degree Rape and Taking Pictures Without Consent following a jury trial in Yankton County.

Quinn Scott Bormann, 22, was found guilty Thursday by a Yankton County Circuit Court jury. He faces a maximum sentence of up to 25 years in prison on the rape conviction and up to one year in the county jail on the charge of taking pictures without consent. Sentencing is scheduled for March 26, 2026.

“The defendant has been convicted of taking advantage of a victim who was unable to give consent,” Jackley said in a statement. “I want to commend the victim for the courage in coming forward in this case.”

According to the Attorney General’s Office, the incident occurred Nov. 1, 2024, in Yankton County.

The case was investigated by South Dakota’s Division of Criminal Investigation and the Yankton County Sheriff’s Office. Prosecutors from the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office handled the case.
