DALLAS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Team Buche Cares, a South Dakota non-profit established as the charitable arm of GF Buche Company, proudly announces a new food fundraiser, Steelers in the Field, featuring players from the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers in the Field event took place this morning in Dallas, South Dakota, as a food fundraiser supporting Team Buche Cares in its mission to address food insecurity among tribal and rural communities across the state. The event featured notable Pittsburgh Steelers football players, including South Dakota native Mason McCormick, alongside Zachary Frazier and Ryan McCollum.
This exclusive, one-day guided pheasant hunt at Cock Block Lodge in Dallas, South Dakota, offered a rare opportunity to participate in a beloved South Dakota tradition—all while hunting with three Pittsburgh Steelers football players. As special guests, these football players join hunters in the field, making this an unforgettable experience.
Outside of Steelers in the Field, Team Buche Cares is involved in numerous projects that significantly impact the communities it serves. In July 2024, it collaborates with the Oglala Sioux Tribe to launch a Summer Food Program, feeding 28,000 children a lunch and a snack, and providing 46,900 breakfasts and suppers each week across the nine districts of the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. In December 2024, just weeks after the inaugural Rooster Roundup, Team Buche Cares distributes 100,000 pounds of turkey to 121 communities, including all nine reservations, just before the Christmas holiday.
Team Buche Cares understands its ability to make an impact on hundreds of families and is motivated by the positive health outcomes that this funding provides to the communities where its team lives and works. 100% of all donations go directly to those in need—no administrative fees.
