FLORENCE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) A raid on a home in Florence, South Dakota by the Coddington County Sheriff’s Office took a turn when suspicious devices were discovered.  Deputies arrived to serve a warrant and carry out a search for illegal firearms when homemade explosive devices and what appeared to be bomb making equipment was discovered at the residence of Christopher Gamble, age 39, and Katelyn Gamble, age 28, at 321 Flyer Drive in Florence, SD.

The Coddington County Sheriff’s Office contacted agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to assist in the search and the safe disposal of the explosives.

Christopher Gamble has been charged with violating his probation, possession of a firearm by a former violent offender, possession of a firearm prior to a felony drug conviction, four counts of child abuse or neglect, maintaining a place where drugs are sold, kept or used, possession of explosives, possession of a controlled drug or substance and marijuana.

Katelyn Gamble has been charged with four counts of child abuse or neglect, maintaining a place where drugs are sold, kept or used, possession of explosives, possession of a controlled drug or substance and marijuana, and violation of a protection order.

Further arrests may follow as the investigation continues.
