Rebids for parts of the new Mitchell High School were approved by the Mitchell School Board on Monday evening. Rebids that were approved were bid packages for masonry, gypsum wall systems, resilient flooring, electrical, and technology cabling. All of the rebids came in higher than their original bids except for the masonry bid, which came in just over $600,000 lower. In all, the rebids came in at around $207,000 lower than the original bids. The original bids could no longer be honored due to price increases during the time period from when the original bids were taken and a public vote on the new high school.
