PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Governor Rhoden is proclaiming May as “Wildfire Awareness Month”. According to the National Drought Monitor, our entire state is abnormally dry, and drought conditions increase the risk of wildfires. Residents are encouraged to thin out their trees, remove dry brush from their landscaping, and keep firewood piles a safe distance from any structure. You’re also encouraged to have a plan in place if a wildfire starts in your area. For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
