MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Mitchell Main Street is getting a facelift with road closures starting this week for upgrades at Fourth Avenue and Main Street. The project includes new asphalt, sewer and water line replacements, ADA-compliant ramps, and improved stormwater management. Some local business owners are concerned about the impact on traffic and water shutoffs, but Mitchell Daily Republic reports the city is notifying businesses in advance. Work will pause for events like the Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo Parade, with Fourth Avenue expected to be finished by July 18th and work on Second Avenue wrapped up by October 10th. Once the project is complete, there are plans for more art downtown and a block party to celebrate. For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
