MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — Voters who cast a ballot in the primary election absentee will not need to submit another application form for the runoff on July 28th in the Republican governor’s race.

County auditors will be automatically mailing out ballots printed with the final two candidates remaining, Toby Doeden and Gov. Larry Rhoden, soon. Voting begins on Friday, June 12th.

Any voters that went to the polls this week, but need an absentee ballot for the runoff can make their request until July 27th at 5 p.m.

The runoff was triggered when none of the four GOP primary candidates were able to reach the 35% threshold. The winner of the runoff will advance to November’s general election.
