MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) There will be at least three Mitchell City Council races in June after two candidates returned their petitions on Wednesday.  In Ward 1, incumbent Dan Sabers turned in his petition to run for re-election yesterday.  He faces Sarah Deakins.  In Ward 2, incumbent Kevin McCardle faces Shaun Davis, who turned in a petition to run on Wednesday as well.  Ward 3 incumbent Marty Barington does not yet have a challenger.  And in Ward 4, incumbent Jeff Smith faces Don Everson.  Mitchell’s mayoral race has three candidates, as Mayor Bob Everson faces Jordan Hanson and Terry Sabers.  Two Mitchell School Board seats are up for election.  The incumbents, Brittni Flood and Shawn Ruml, have turned in petitions to run for re-election.  Petitions for the June city and school board election are due Tuesday, March 26th at 5 PM.
