MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Safe Place of Eastern South Dakota celebrated the opening of its new $5.3 million facility in Mitchell with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday morning. The upgraded building adds 4,000 square feet and will better serve survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and human trafficking across nine counties. The new space includes 10 private bedrooms, two family kitchens, expanded play areas, and enhanced security features like private visitation entrances.
