A Scotland teen was injured in a single-vehicle crash two miles north of Kaylor early Sunday morning. Preliminary information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol indicates that 18-year old Dawson Bietz was driving a 2003 Chevy Silverado southbound on 418th Avenue just south of 288th Street at around 1:45 AM when the vehicle left the roadway, went through a ditch, hit a post, collided with an embankment, and eventually rolled. Bietz had to be extricated from the pickup. He was taken to the Parkston hospital and was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries. Charges are pending.
