PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association is praising Governor Rhoden for signing a bill requiring proper labeling of lab-grown meat. House Bill 10-22 requires the words “cell-cultured” or “lab-grown” to be listed on the product label. Eric Jennings with the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association says properly labeling the products was the association’s top concern during this year’s legislative session. According to Jennings, the association had worries that unknowing consumers would mistakenly buy lab-grown meat or be misled into buying the products. The bill passed unanimously through both chambers of the South Dakota Legislature. For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
