SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The Feeding South Dakota organization has received another six-digit donation from the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation and its annual Prime Time Gala and Concert. Foundation board member Ty Eschenbaum (e-shen-bomb) says the check for Saturday night’s (June 22, 2024) donation was $303,622.
Eschenbaum says this year’s 11th annual event brings the total donation amount from the Foundation to more than $2.7 million ($2,720,044). He says that Feeding South Dakota turned that money into 1.6 million pounds of beef distributed to food pantries and people in need throughout South Dakota.
Feeding South Dakota CEO Lori Dykstra says more than 106,000 people in the state struggle with food insecurity and one out of every six of them is a child.
In addition to the donation, Eschenbaum says the Prime Time Gala helps support the next generation of the cattle industry.
