Today is the final day of the main run of this year’s legislative session. Lawmakers are still haggling over what kind of a tax cut to give South Dakotans. HB 1137A would decrease the state’s broad sales tax fractionally. There are a handful of bills left to approve before the legislature decides on the general appropriations bill, or the budget. Legislators will still have one more day–Veto Day on March 27–to finish up any loose ends and consider gubernatorial vetoes.
