MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission has voted in favor of the South Deuel Wind project. The Commission voted Friday to grant a construction permit for the wind energy conservation facility. The proposed project includes about 70 wind turbines on roughly 30-thousand acres. It’s expected to be ready for operation by December 2026.

The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission has approved the South Deuel Wind project, granting a construction permit for the wind energy facility. The project, which was approved on Friday, will include approximately 70 wind turbines spread across 30,000 acres.
