SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Sioux Falls city leaders are tightening the budget, and local non-profits are expected to feel the squeeze. City Finance Director Shawn Pritchett says property tax reform is a key reason behind the slimmer spending plan. (:16) This year, non-profits received about $1.5 million in city subsidies. But Pritchett is recommending that the number drop to around $1 million next year. The budget shift will also change how non-profits apply for and receive city funding.
