SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The Sioux Falls City Council has approved a new 5-year contract for Ambulance service with PatientCare EMS, but not without criticism. The proposal has won support of the Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority as well as Avera and Sanford Health Systems. Councilor Curt Soehl agrees the company has done a good job but still has a major problem with the contract. The company has agreed to replace older ambulance trucks with new ones and expand the fleet from 11 to 12 ambulances starting next year. The proposal passed 7-to-1, with Soehl being the only no vote.
