SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) A Day of Action food drive is happening Saturday, April 19th, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Van Eps Park in Sioux Falls. Community organizers are collecting shelf-stable food and cash donations to support Feeding South Dakota and other local hunger relief groups as organizers grow concerned over funding cuts. Attendees can also join a peaceful rally with signs along Minnesota Avenue. Organizers say 1 in 9 South Dakotans face food insecurity, including around 7,000 children in Sioux Falls. They encourage residents to add a few extra items to their grocery cart this week and show up in support.
