PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) South Dakota Chamber of Commerce & Industry announces the 2024 Economic Outlook, Tuesday, October 1, 3-6 PM at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.

The Economic Outlook has become a cornerstone event for business leaders on the first Tuesday of October, providing invaluable insights into the strengths and challenges of our regional economy and comparing regional to national trends. This year, in addition to the economic conversation, the SD Chamber is featuring a focused discussion on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and the evolving landscape of economic innovation. Audience engagement is a priority for both sessions.

  • Jared McEntaffer, Ph.D., CEO, chief economist, Dakota Institute for Business and Economic Analysis.

These renowned economic experts look forward to an interactive discussion with audience members.

A discussion about cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and an update on the DARC facility will be moderated by Jodi Schwan, Sioux Falls Business, and feature

  • Andrea Thompson, CEO of DARC (DSU’s Dakota Applied Research Corp), addressing cybersecurity and the economic impact of the facility.
  • David De Jong, Ed.D., Dakota State University Dean of the College of Education & Human Performance, discussing the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence, and
  • Kimberly Hogstad, Vice President – Information Security Officer with Sanford Health, providing perspectives on private sector cybersecurity challenges.
