MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) South Dakota lawmakers are waiting to hear what Governor Larry Rhoden has in mind to provide property tax relief. Legislators passed a bill to limit property valuation assessments over the next five years…but admit that doesn’t reduce property taxes. Republican Representative Karla Lems of Canton says an interim study committee has its work cut out for it. Most observers agree that isn’t much appetite to cut education spending or funds for local governments.
