MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) South Dakota lawmakers are looking for ways to fix the shortage of emergency medical services in rural areas. Nearly two-thirds of the state’s ambulance services rely on part-time or volunteer crews, and many small communities are struggling to keep up.
