PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) South Dakota legislators will have their hands full considering property tax relief measures during their next session. A study committee approved more than two dozen proposals for legislative action. Among them – measures to freeze property taxes for seniors and veterans. Representative Scott Odenbach also pushed for a limit on government spending, and a return to a former legislative pledge on lottery proceeds. South Dakota legislators are preparing to take up more than two dozen property tax relief proposals during the upcoming 2025 legislative session, which begins January 13.
