Active COVID-19 cases in South Dakota went down slightly Wednesday in the latest report and now stands at 2,043. The South Dakota Department of Health reported 158 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday and one new fatality from the virus as the state’s total case number reached 121,517. The death toll in the state from the virus is at 1,954 overall since the pandemic began. Meanwhile, 115 people are currently in the hospital due to COVID-19 and Davison County’s active case count is now at 49.
