The South Dakota State football team dominated previously unbeaten Delaware 33-3 in the FCS semifinals on Saturday to earn the program’s first trip to the national championship game.
The Jackrabbits had a very balanced offense with 186 yards passing and 168 yards on the ground, as they outgained the Blue Hens 354 to 216 in total yardage. SDSU freshman quarterback Mark Gronowski went 10-16 for 162 yards and 2 touchdown passes in the game, while running backs Pierre Strong and Isaiah Davis combined for 142 yards and a TD run. The Jackrabbit defense had a strong performance with 6 sacks on the day, while only allowing one scoring drive in the first quarter on a field goal.
South Dakota State will play in their first ever FCS national championship game next Sunday in Frisco, Texas at 1pm.
