BROOKINGS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) South Dakota State University has lost out on an $86 million livestock research grant due to recent federal spending cuts. A university spokesperson says the grant would have supported beef and bison producers through improved grazing and land management strategies. Other institutions affected by the cuts include the University of South Dakota, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, and Oglala Lakota College.
