VERMILLION, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The South Dakota Supreme Court is holding its October term this week at the Knudson School of Law in Vermillion. Among the eight cases being heard is a high-profile sinkhole lawsuit from Black Hawk’s Hideaway Hills neighborhood. Residents allege the state failed to properly reclaim land built over an old gypsum mine, leading to a massive 2020 sinkhole that forced 13 homes to evacuate.
