Mitchell
The Kernel gymnastics team is set to compete tomorrow. On Saturday they’ll host the Mitchell Meet at Mega Gymnastics. They’ll compete against Sioux Falls Jefferson, Sioux Falls Lincoln, Sioux Falls Roosevelt and Sioux Falls Washington. Things will get started at 11:30am.
Not listed on their main schedule, but the girls wrestling team competes today. They’ll be taking on McCook Central-Montrose on the road. Things will get started at 2pm.
Each of your Mitchell Marlins varsity hockey teams will be competing in the “Pink the Rink” event beginning tomorrow. It’ll be hosted here in Mitchell with games played at the Mitchell Activities Center in the Toshiba Rink. The girls will play tomorrow at 4pm against Watertown and the boys will play at 8:30pm against Brandon Valley. The girls will also play again on Sunday against Sioux Falls at Noon.
Kernel girls basketball is back to the hardwood for 2025 tonight. They’ll be at home in the World’s Only Corn Palace playing against the Harrisburg Tigers for Class AA conference action. JV gets started at 4pm, then sophomores at 5:30pm and varsity at 7pm.
Dakota Wesleyan
The Tiger basketball teams were both in action last night. Your No. 17 ranked women’s basketball team got the upset over No. 14 ranked Concordia in the World’s Only Corn Palace by a score of 77-65. They were led by a career-high 22-point night from Avery Broughton. For the men, they were unable to keep up their winning ways and their five-game win streak came to an end. The Tigers were held in check and lost to the Bulldogs, 95-84. Concordia shot a red hot 67.3% from the field to take down the Tigers.

Nine games are being played tonight in the NBA. Two to be aired on National TV. It’ll start with a lone 6pm game as the Charlotte Hornets are at the Detroit Pistons. One lone 6:30pm start and it’s the Orlando Magic at the Toronto Raptors. Three games get going at 7pm. The Boston Celtics at the Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards at New Orleans Pelicans and New York Knicks at the Oklahoma City Thunder on NBATV. Four separate start times to round things out. You’ll have the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Dallas Mavericks at 7:30pm, San Antonio Spurs at Denver Nuggets at 8pm, Memphis Grizzlies at Sacramento Kings at 9pm and Atlanta Hawks at Los Angeles Lakers at 9:30pm on NBATV.

The NFL has football to be played tomorrow. That’s right, more football on a Saturday. It’ll be the Cleveland Browns at the Baltimore Ravens at 3:30pm on ABC/ESPN. Followed by the Cincinnati Bengals at the Pittsburgh Steelers at 7pm on ABC/ESPN.
