The Kernel varsity boys tennis team will have their first meet today. They will head on over to Yankton for a Varsity Triangular that will begin this morning at 11am.
Mitchell Softball: The Mitchell softball teams will finally have game action after multiple postponements to begin the year. They will be facing Sioux Falls Jefferson in Mitchell tonight. JV will start at 5pm and varsity begins at 7pm.
DWU Track & Field: The Tiger track & field teams are in competition over the next two days. Both the men and the women will compete in the USD Early Bird in Vermillion, SD at the Lillibridge Track Complex. They’ll get rolling today at 11:50am and will have day two action tomorrow at 9am.
DWU Baseball: Tiger baseball had doubleheader game action yesterday afternoon in Mitchell. They faced the Mount Marty Lancers and split the games. DWU took Game 1 in a 3-0 shutout, but lost Game 2, 4-3. The Tigers are now 11-20 overall and 10-4 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. Next, they’ll finish their series with the Lancers this Sunday in another doubleheader.
DWU Softball: Tiger softball was scheduled for doubleheader action against Doane tomorrow, but due to weather those games have been postponed to be played at a later date.
MLB: The Minnesota Twins started a new series yesterday against the Houston Astros in Minnesota. The Twins couldn’t keep up their recent winning ways and lost to Houston, 5-2. They’re off today, but the next game against the Astros is tomorrow at 1:10pm.
NBA: The Minnesota Timberwolves took on the Brooklyn Nets last night on the road. Minnesota was able to come out on top, 105-90. They’ll have today off and will play the Philadelphia 76ers tomorrow on the road.
