Mitchell

The Mitchell track & field teams will continue with State Championship action today and tomorrow. Day one results include Kellan Odell finishing seventh in Javelin and Taylor DeJong getting seventh in shot put. The 4x800m relay team of Emerson Smith, Londyn Schroeder, Sidney Malde and Carson Weich finished in eighth. Keyana Kelley just missed finals in the 100m hurdles with a ninth place finish. Also finishing just short of finals with a ninth place finish was the 4x100m relay team of Kelley, Addie Seimsen, Ava Brannan, and Lainee Forst. The Girls Medley relay team of Siemsen, Forst, Weich, and Smith had a ninth place finish. A new school record was set by the boys medley relay team of Sam Mullenmeister, Alexier Padilla, Carter Lee and Hunter Patton. This team recorded the fourth fastest time ever in the history of South Dakota State AA. Mitchell will compete again at Sioux Falls Howard Wood Field today.

Amateur Baseball

The Mitchell Aces took on Corsica last night in Mitchell. Mitchell was able to get their first victory and revenge on Corsica after an 8-0 shutout on Sunday. They took the win last night, 11-7. They will play again next this Sunday, June 1 at the Winner/Colome Pheasants.

MLB

The Minnesota Twins return to action tonight when they face the Seattle Mariners on the road. The two teams each have 30 wins on the year and will face each other tonight at 9:10pm in Seattle, WA.

WNBA

The league had a pair of close games last night. The Chicago Sky defeated the Dallas Wings, 97-92 and the New York Liberty took down the Golden State Valkyries again, 82-77. Tonight, you’ll have the Connecticut Sun at the Indiana Fever and the New York Liberty at the Washington Mystics. With both games starting at 6:30pm. Then at 9pm, you have the Los Angeles Sparks at the Las Vegas Aces, the Minnesota Lynx at the Phoenix Mercury and the Atlanta Dream at the Seattle Storm. All games are available on ION.

NBA

The Eastern Conference Finals will now see a Game 6 after last night’s game. The No. 3 seed New York Knicks took down the No. 4 seed Indiana Pacers, 111-94. That Game 6 will take place tomorrow night at 7pm on TNT/TruTV/MAX in Indianapolis, IN.
