The All-Conference awards were released recently for the boys and two players were selected. Seniors Markus Talley and Gavin Hinker were named Eastern SD All-Conference. The Kernel boys and girls basketball teams are State Tournament bound once again! The No. 4 seed Kernel boys will play against the No. 5 seed Huron on Mar. 20 at 1:45pm MT (2:45pm CT). The No. 6 seed Lady Kernels will play Thursday, Mar. 13 when they take on No. 3 seed Sioux Falls Washington at 7:45pm MT (8:45pm CT). All games will be played at The Monument Summit Arena.

Dakota Wesleyan

The Tiger softball team will have a pair of games again today in the Tucson Invitational. They will take on William Penn (IA) at 9am, followed by a game against Park-Gilbert at 1:30pm. The Tigers claimed a pair of wins yesterday as well. They defeated Concordia (MI), 9-4 and then Franklin & Marshall, 6-3. Tiger softball is 17-4 overall going into today’s games.

The Tiger baseball team was in action yesterday again in Arizona in the Tucson Invitational. They took on SMSU again and it was more lopsided this time as SMSU defeated DWU, 11-1. The Tigers will prepare for their final game in Arizona today as they will play against Park-Gilbert at 7pm tonight.

The Tiger women’s golf team will hit the course today for the first time in 2025 after being on break since their last competition on October 15. They will have a two-day event as they compete in the Spring 2025 Jackrabbit Invitational. It’s 54 holes of play at the Boulder Creek Golf Club on both days.

South Dakota State

The Jackrabbit women’s basketball team has been crowned Champions of the Summit League Conference. The women took down No. 2 seed Oral Roberts, 84-68. In the year 2025, they have yet to lose a game and are on a 19-game winning streak. They will now prepare for seeding in the D1 Women’s Basketball Championships.

NFL

The Minnesota Vikings made an important re-signing yesterday afternoon. The Vikings re-signed running back Aaron Jones to a two-year, $20 million contract, per NFL Insider Ian Rapoport. The deal includes $13 million guaranteed.

NBA

A host of games will go down in the NBA tonight, but only a pair will be on National TV. On NBATV, you’ll have the Denver Nuggets at the Oklahoma City Thunder at 7pm and the New York Knicks at the Sacramento Kings at 9:30pm. The Minnesota Timberwolves don’t return to action until Wednesday when they travel to Denver to play the Nuggets on ESPN.
