Mitchell
The Mitchell varsity softball team will be playing tomorrow in Mitchell vs Pierre at Cadwell Park. They will start at 5:30pm and JV will begin at 4pm.
The Kernel varsity boys tennis team will have their first bit of action of the season today after previously being postponed last week. They will head on over to Yankton for a Varsity Triangular that will begin at 11am.
Dakota Wesleyan
Tiger baseball wrapped up their series with the Mount Marty Lancers yesterday in Mitchell. DWU loses the four-game series after starting it 1-1 by dropping the last two games. Losing Game 1, 4-0 and Game 2, 11-0. They now sit at 11-22 overall and 10-6 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.
The Tiger golf teams will be in competition over the next two days here in Mitchell at the Lakeview Golf Course. They will host the DWU Spring Invite, and it will begin for the men and the women at 9am today and tomorrow.
March Madness
The women’s National Championship game occurred yesterday afternoon between No. 2 UConn and No. 1 South Carolina. It was another dominant win for the Huskies as they took down the Gamecocks, 82-59. Tonight, you’ll have the men’s National Championship game between No. 1 Florida and No. 1 Houston beginning at 7:50pm on CBS.
MLB
The Minnesota Twins faced the Houston Astros yesterday afternoon to round out their series. It was a game that went 10 innings and ended up with the Astros winning it, 9-7. Minnesota will play again today at the Kansas City Royals at 6:40pm.
NBA
The Minnesota Timberwolves will be off until tomorrow when they play Milwaukee. Only two games are on the schedule for the NBA today and one is on National TV. It’s the Sacramento Kings at the Detroit Pistons at 6pm on NBATV. The NBA regular season will conclude a week from today.
