Mitchell Football
The Kernel football is also playing tomorrow night, and they will be home for a rivalry game here in Mitchell. They will host the No. 1 team in 11AA, the Huron Tigers, and the game will begin at 7pm.
Mitchell Volleyball
The Kernel volleyball teams get back to the volleyball court today. They are set to face Watertown at Watertown Civic Arena with JV and freshman playing at 4:30pm, sophomores at 5:30pm and varsity at 6:30pm.
Mitchell Cross Country
The Kernel cross country teams will be competing this afternoon. They will run in the Roger Loecker Invite in Huron. It will take place at Huron Broadland Creek Golf Course at 4pm.
DWU Golf
Allison Meyerink for the Tiger women’s golf team has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Player-of-the-Week. It is her third time getting the honor this season. She finished amongst the top spots in recent competitions and helped guide her team to overall team success as well.
DWU Soccer
The Tiger soccer teams took on the Waldorf Warriors yesterday on the road. The ladies took care of business and racked up the goals. Defeating the Warriors, 7-1. The men also had a good night against the Warriors and got a win as well, 5-1.
DWU Volleyball
The (RV) Tiger volleyball team was at home last night taking on the Morningside Mustangs. After slipping in the opening set, DWU managed to put the game to bed and took the next three sets, winning it, 3-1.
MLB
The Championship Series in the American League was the lone game last night for some Game 3 action. It was between the No. 1 seed Toronto Blue Jays and the No. 2 seed Seattle Mariners. Toronto came and made their mark now and etched themselves a win in this series after getting a 13-4 victory last night. It is now a 2-1 series lead for Seattle. They will have their Game 4 tonight at 7:33pm on FS1. Before that, will be Game 3 as the No. 1 seed Milwaukee Brewers are at the No. 3 seed Los Angeles Dodgers at 5:08pm on TBS/TruTV/MAX.
NFL
Thursday Night Football kicks off week 7 action in the NFL tonight. You will have the Pittsburgh Steelers (4-1) at the Cincinnati Bengals (2-4) on Prime Video. The game will begin at 7:15pm. The Minnesota Vikings return to the field this week after their bye week, and they will host the Philadelphia Eagles at Noon on FOX on Sunday.
