The Kernel Gymnastics team will compete in the State Tournament today and tomorrow. The tournament will be played at the Watertown high school arena. (Times TBD).

The Kernel girls wrestling team will have their Eastern South Dakota Conference Meet today. They’ll compete in the Huron Arena and begin at 5pm.

Dakota Wesleyan

Both Tiger basketball teams were home in the World’s Only Corn Palace taking on the Morningside Mustangs last night. It was a relatively close game for the Tiger women at home against the Mustangs. Though they managed to come out on top, 72-66 and have now won seven of their last eight. This marks the seventh straight season the Tigers have won 20+ games. They were led by Rylee Rosenquist who had a 24-point & 11-rebound double-double. The Tiger women now sit at 20-5 overall and 15-4 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. The men’s game followed, and it was a battle of the offenses in this matchup. DWU ended up with a season-high scoring mark and won it 99-90 at home. Jakob Dobney led all scorers with 30 points for DWU. The men improved to 19-6 overall and 12-5 in the GPAC.

The Tiger Indoor Track & Field teams will be competing in the Great Plains Athletic Conference Championships hosted here in Mitchell at the DWU/Avera Sports & Wellness Complex. They will begin at 1pm today and at 9am tomorrow morning.

The Tiger softball team returns to action tomorrow as they head over to Sioux Center, Iowa for another weekend full of games. They’re playing in the ASBS Softball Classic #2 and start tomorrow against Valley City State at 11am, followed by Dickinson State at 1pm. Then on Saturday they’ll face Dakota State at 3pm and York (NE) at 5pm.

South Dakota State

The Jackrabbit women’s basketball team was in action last night. The SDSU women are cooking in the year 2025 as they pick up yet another win, this one on the road against the North Dakota State Bison, 68-53. They’re now on a 12-game win streak and haven’t lost in the year 2025 and sit at 22-3 overall. The men will play at home in Brookings, SD tonight when they host the Omaha Mavericks at 7pm in the First Bank & Trust Arena.

NBA

Just a handful of games on the docket in the association tonight with only one airing on National TV. Beginning with two games at 7pm as the Golden State Warriors are at the Houston Rockets and the Sacramento Kings are at the New Orleans Pelicans. Followed by a pair of 7:30pm games with the Miami Heat at the Dallas Mavericks and the Oklahoma City Thunder will visit the Minnesota Timberwolves on TNT/TruTV/MAX. The night will end with the Los Angeles Clippers at the Utah Jazz at 8pm.
