Mitchell

Kernel basketball teams will see game action again tomorrow against Pierre T.F. Riggs when they are split home and away for the final time in the regular season. The girls will be on the road with subvarsity games at 4pm & 5:30pm and varsity will start at 7pm. The boys will have the same start times for subvarsity and varsity games, but they’ll be home in the World’s Only Corn Palace.

The girls varsity regional wrestling tournament is next for Mitchell. It will be today at 3pm at Aberdeen Central high school.

Dakota Wesleyan

Tiger softball’s McKinnely Mull has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference Player of the Week. She had a .538 hitting percentage, five stolen bases, two RBI’s and one homerun. She helped lead the Tigers to a 4-0 record this past week.

The Tiger baseball team will make their return to action after a few weeks off. This weekend they’ll have a four-game slate in Kansas City, KS on Saturday & Sunday. Saturday they’ll play William Penn (IA) at 11:30am on Field 6 and then MidAmerica Nazarene at 2:30pm on Field 5. Sunday they’ll take on Baker (KS) at 11am on Field 3 and Clarke (IA) at 1:30pm on Field 4.

It’s GPAC Tournament time for Tiger men’s wrestling this weekend. Beginning tomorrow, DWU will compete in Hastings, NE at Lynn Farrell Arena at 2pm. Then on Saturday they’ll get back to it at 10am again at Lynn Farrell Arena.

The Tigers basketball teams were in action on the road last night in Forest City, Iowa taking on Waldorf and they took care of business. The No. 16 ranked Tiger women started things off and the Warriors gave them more of a test than the last time they met in Mitchell. Though the result was the same as they won, 74-64. They were led by Emma Yost with 25 points and five rebounds. Tigers improve to 22-5 overall and 17-4 in the GPAC. The men’s game followed, and they asserted themselves with another strong win, 99-72. DWU has notched 99 points in their last two victories. Jakob Dobney led the way with 18 points and five steals. They improved to 20-7 overall and 13-6 in the GPAC.

South Dakota State

The Jackrabbit men’s basketball team hosted the North Dakota State Bison last night in Brookings. They were unable to get the win and lost, 77-68. The women will play next when they visit Kansas City, MO to take on Kansas City at 2pm this Saturday.

NBA

The NBA will return to a nice slate of games tonight. Only two will be on National TV tonight. Starting with two games at 6pm as the Memphis Grizzlies visit the Indiana Pacers and the Boston Celtics are at the Philadelphia 76ers on TNT/TruTV/MAX. Then at 6:30pm, you’ll have the Orlando Magic at the Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers at the Brooklyn Nets and the Chicago Bulls at the New York Knicks. At 7pm, you’ve got the Los Angeles Clippers at the Milwaukee Bucks and at 8pm it’s the Charlotte Hornets at the Denver Nuggets. Ending the night will be the Phoenix Suns at the San Antonio Spurs at 8:30pm on TNT/TruTV/MAX and then the Los Angeles Lakers at the Portland Trail Blazers at 9pm.
