Mitchell
Mitchell’s varsity boys tennis team will be competing tomorrow morning. They’ll be at home for a Varsity Dual against Rapid City Central at Hitchcock Park in Mitchell. It will begin at 10am.
The Kernels track & field teams will hit the road tomorrow for competition. They’ll travel to Huron Tiger Stadium to face the Huron Tigers in a Varsity Invitational at 2pm.
The Mitchell varsity softball team gets back to the field today. They’ll be on the road to face the Aberdeen Central Lady Golden Eagles. Varsity starts at 4pm and JV begins at 6pm.
Dakota Wesleyan
The Tiger basketball team had a commitment last night at the Mitchell Quarterback Club. The men’s basketball team had Mitchell’s Gavin Hinker sign his letter of intent to play basketball for the Tigers next season. Hinker was a star player and played center for the Kernels over the years. He is a 2024 Class AA State Champion, and this year, among past accolades, he received the honors of Eastern South Dakota All-Conference, State Tournament All-Tournament team and All-State second team.
The DWU track & field teams get back to action tomorrow and Saturday when they compete in the Sioux City Relays. They’ll go down in Sioux City, Iowa at Olsen Stadium at Noon on day one and 9am on day two.
Tiger baseball traveled over to Brookings yesterday afternoon for a game against South Dakota State. The Jackrabbits came out on top by a score of 16-4. This game does not count against DWU’s record.
MLB
The Minnesota Twins completed the third game of the series against the Kansas City Royals last night. The Twins got their first game of the series in a 4-0 shutout win. The final game of the series goes down today at 1:10pm in Kansas City.
NBA
The Minnesota Timberwolves will play the Memphis Grizzlies in Memphis tonight. They are one of two National TV games tonight. It starts with the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Indiana Pacers at 6pm and then Minnesota and Memphis play at 9pm. Both games are on TNT/TruTV/MAX.
